Digital Tasbeeh
NEWA beautiful, free digital tasbeeh counter designed for daily dhikr and worship.
The Problem
Many Muslims rely on physical tasbeeh beads for daily dhikr, but they are not always convenient to carry. Existing digital alternatives are often cluttered with ads, require unnecessary permissions, or lack authentic content. There was a clear need for a clean, distraction-free digital tasbeeh that respects the sanctity of worship while being accessible on any device.
The Solution
Digital Tasbeeh by MZift is a free, ad-free, and offline-capable tasbeeh counter built as a Progressive Web App. It features a library of authentic duas and dhikr sourced directly from the Quran and authentic hadith collections including Bukhari, Muslim, Abu Dawud, Tirmidhi, and Nasa'i. Every phrase includes Arabic text, transliteration, English translation, and the specific hadith reference. The app works entirely in your browser with no installation required, and once loaded, it functions offline so you can use it anywhere.
Key Features
The counter supports preset targets of 33, 99, and 100, plus custom counts, with optional sound and haptic feedback. The quick start section provides the most common post-salah dhikr: SubhanAllah 33 times, Alhamdulillah 33 times, Allahu Akbar 34 times, and La ilaha illallah with its full declaration 100 times. A full dhikr library lets you browse and select from authenticated duas. The app is a Sadqa Jariya project: free forever, ad-free forever, no accounts, no sign-ups, no analytics tracking your worship. It includes sharing features for WhatsApp, Facebook, X, Telegram, and LinkedIn.
Technical Details
Digital Tasbeeh is built with PHP for server-side rendering, Tailwind CSS for a responsive and clean interface, and vanilla JavaScript for the interactive counter logic. The dhikr content is stored in JSON format, making it easy to update and expand. The app is optimized for performance, scoring high on Google PageSpeed Insights, and follows Progressive Web App standards for installability and offline functionality.
Impact
Since its launch, Digital Tasbeeh has been well received by users who appreciate its simplicity and authenticity. It represents my commitment to building Islamic tools that are free, respectful, and genuinely useful. The goal is to make daily worship easier and more accessible through thoughtful technology.
